Juicy and tender soy-glazed chicken thighs with a glossy, mahogany skin. This easy air fryer soy sauce chicken recipe is ready in just 30 minutes with simple ingredients. It's packed with savory and umami-rich flavor.
Place the chicken thigh bone-side up on a cutting board. Use a sharp knife to carefully make shallow slits around the thigh bone until you can remove it completely without piercing the skin. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels.
Transfer the thighs to a large mixing bowl. Combine the chicken with the marinade ingredients and massage until evenly coated. Marinate for 15 minutes.
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with neutral oil. Alternatively, place air fryer parchment paper in the basket with the chicken for easier cleanup. Let any excess marinade drip off, then arrange the chicken skin-side up in a single layer with space between each piece.
Air fry at 375°F for 8-10 minutes without flipping, until the skin is caramelized and the thickest part of the chicken reaches 165°F.
Transfer the chicken to a clean cutting board and rest for 5 minutes. Slice into even strips and garnish with toasted sesame seeds and green onions.
